Son Of A Bush - The Director's Cut

Inspired by the song Son Of A Bush by the always outspoken group Public Enemy, this is the second narrative film in which I wrote and directed. The original script was written during election time in 2004 and was later revamped and updated with the setting changing from a big city to a small town.

Fed up by the news of the day, a regular guy is inspired by the creative free speech of others. Desiring to get involved, he decides to speak out himself. The Feds catch on quickly in this politically motivated short film.

I teamed up with two cable access producers, Kevin Gallagher of Time Out Productions and David Suero of S Productions to begin filming in the fall of 2006. All scenes were shot on location in Bethel, Danbury and New Milford. Editing of the film took place in Comcast Cable Channel 23 studios during 2007-08.

Children's book author and managing editor of the Hat City Entertainment newspaper Joe Shaboo took on the starring role. Singer/songwriter Nicholas James Marsicano aka Nic James contributed music to the film, as he did for my first film, The Role, and the two-part historical documentary series I directed. Other indie musical contributions came from Dave King and Dave Cahill.

The film will be airing on Comcast Cable Channel 23 during the months of Sept. through November.
